A house brimming with beautiful boutique style

It sounds like a heady mix: intricate prints depicting flora and fauna, ornamental headboards, brightly coloured artwork and tactile wallcoverings. Yet these strong design choices work beautifully – and calmly – together.

This is what happens when a client in love with London’s boutique hotels puts an interior design studio in the driver’s seat – they have fun together.

Balancing patterns, shapes and textures was one of the key challenges of the job. Creating captivating bedrooms for the client’s children – a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy – was another.

The studio was careful to blend whimsical touches, like a pale pink cuckoo clock and planetary mobile, with grown-up sophistication in the form of early 19th century botanical drawings and black leather bedsides.

These smart selections will enable each room to adapt over time to accommodate the children’s maturing tastes.
