A house brimming with beautiful boutique style

It sounds like a heady mix: intricate prints depicting flora and fauna, ornamental headboards, brightly coloured artwork and tactile wallcoverings. Yet these strong design choices work beautifully – and calmly – together.

This is what happens when a client in love with London’s boutique hotels puts an interior design studio in the driver’s seat – they have fun together.

Balancing patterns, shapes and textures was one of the key challenges of the job. Creating captivating bedrooms for the client’s children – a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy – was another.

The studio was careful to blend whimsical touches, like a pale pink cuckoo clock and planetary mobile, with grown-up sophistication in the form of early 19^th century botanical drawings and black leather bedsides.

These smart selections will enable each room to adapt over time to accommodate the children’s maturing tastes.
