Drawing inspiration from its palette and composition

Interior designers take their cues from all sorts of things – a building’s architecture, an area’s cultural history, a chair with distinctive contours, a small painting. In fact, inspiration is all around us…we just have to look.

Of course, art is a wondrous well of colours, textures, shapes and storytelling. And the way artists can manipulate pigments to create an infinite rainbow of seemingly other-worldly hues, tones and shades is hard to beat. So it’s hardly surprising that so many interior designers are instinctively drawn to art when thinking about a scheme.
