South Bank

Elegantly contoured residences in one of London’s cultural hotspots

A new mixed-use development on the vibrant South Bank

Triptych Bankside is a modern classic, as visually dynamic and architecturally uncompromising as the nearby Tate Modern and Millennium Bridge. It ripples, glistens and shines, qualities that have inspired many creations – from a light-reflecting dining table to a zigzagging sofa that provides multi-aspect seating. Other design highlights include a coffee table of hand-crafted travertine rosso slabs, and a spot table of handblown glass, which, when the light hits, casts liquid-green shadows across the floor.

Rise and shine

We designed this glossy, lipstick-red dining table to celebrate both the building’s glimmering façade and the glorious sunrises that pour in through the east-facing windows. Its reflective surfaces bounce light round the room, casting sculptural shadows on the walls and ceiling. There’s a playfulness to this piece that contrasts with the pale-grey majesty of St. Paul’s Cathedral outside.

Light and shade

An assortment of light shades – hand-pleated parchment, hand-glazed ceramic and enamel cones – add artisanal character to the large open-plan space. They also help to zone it into distinctive living, dining and kitchen areas, creating smaller, more intimate places to relax in.

Bend the rules

To make the most of the iconic views – from the glass and steel towers of the financial district to the English baroque splendour of St. Paul’s – we created a multi-aspect sofa. The bespoke design provides seating on three sides – one facing the TV joinery unit and two facing the north and east balconies. We’ve upholstered the piece in a waffle-textured cotton and piped it in a clay-coloured Italian leather to accentuate its contours.

Coffee and cream

The principal bedroom radiates a mellow, rounded warmth thanks to a bespoke, coffee-bean coloured burlwood headboard, caramel-hued linen curtains, and cream-toned walls, sheepskin chair and cushions.

Image is everything

A surrealist, colour-soaked photograph zings against cool, bone china blue walls. It’s a playful piece to preside over a bespoke headboard comprising timber-framed panels of grid-patterned wallpaper and a softly ridged jacquard weave. The delicate ridges coupled with the finely pleated lampshade create pleasing textures in a confidently pared back space.
